Delivering on “A promise to Learn – a commitment to act” – the national Patient Safety Collaboratives’ learning event

The 15 Patient Safety Collaboratives (PSCs) came together on 23 May 2017 at a national event entitled “A promise to learn – a commitment to act”.

There were over 450 delegates with a range of keynote speakers and local projects presented. Oxford PSC’s contribution included:

presenting a masterclass on sepsis with Wessex PSC

facilitating a roundtable discussion on retained swabs in maternity

poster displays relating to maternity, sepsis and AKI.

AKI and maternity projects are also featured in the PSC national report.

Three patient safety devices from KLIPS UK – the PneuX, WireSafe and NIC – were featured in AHSN Network Chair Liz Mear’s talk and showcased on the day. You can read more about these critical care devices in the Oxford Patient Safety Annual Report 2017 and watch short films about each of them on the Oxford AHSN YouTube channel.
