Mental health is a key priority for the NHS, as outlined in the Long Term Plan (2019). To support this, the Oxford AHSN is working with NHS commissioners and providers, industry partners, other AHSNs and the voluntary sector to develop a sustainable programme of improvement and innovation to support providers of mental healthcare.
We identify and spread innovations and improvements in mental health and patient safety projects across the Oxford AHSN region – Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Milton Keynes – and connect innovators to potential sources of funding.
Our current mental health priorities include:
- ADHD
- Eating disorders
- National Mental Health Safety Improvement Programme (NMHSIP)
- Student mental health
- Anxiety and depression network – achieving and sustaining high recovery rates
- Care homes in-reach teams – helping care homes provide quality care to people living with dementia
